LOOKING BRIGHT, SEEING RIGHT

Comprehenssive Eye Exam

WHAT IS THE PROCESS LIKE?

TEST PERFORMING

Keep your eyes open!

From how well you can see the letters down the chart, colour recognition, vision stability, muscle reflex, and radius of eye movements. First time getting examined? Don’t worry, all these tests are done with non-invasive equipment.

HISTORY TAKING

Speaking with a purpose

Our optometrist will ask you about your daily activities, general health, family history of eye diseases and other treatments. These information will help us make a more informed investigation

MANAGEMENT

Putting action to refraction

A holistic advice that is to be discussed with you. These may be as simple as prescribing a thumbs up for taking good care of your eyes, changing to a new prescription, advising for other optical alternatives or lifestyle changes.

Vision Solution for Adults

As we age towards our 40s, habitual near task and fine prints starts becoming troublesome. With it comes easier eye fatigue, needing better lighting and the sudden habit of holding reading material at an arms length. Sounds familiar.

Presbyopia is an irreversible affect due to our eye muscle. But regaining clear, comfortable near vision for all lifestyle needs can be achieved with Multifocallenses and Office lenses.

The average adult worker spends abouts eight hours a day looking at a digital device everyday. That is more time than the adult sleeping time! While technology has brought many benefits, one occuring problem has crept up in our lives. One such problem? Digital eye strain, also known as computer vision syndrome (CVS). Common complaints include:

  • Dry, red, or irritated eyes
  • Blurred vision
  • Light sensitivity
  • Back, neck, and shoulder pain
  • Headaches or migraines

The solution? Anti-Fatigue lens to enhance your work performance and comfort. Click on the link to learn more about it!

CHILDREN EYE CARE

A child’s mind is through the window of their eyes

Children may exhibit poor eyesight in terms of behavior change, and it may be difficult for them to verbally explain their frustrations or even not being aware of it at all. Conditions such as lazy eye (amblyopia) or squint eye (strabismus) are one of the most common eye problems that occur in young ones, and are treated more effectively with better results at a younger age

Did you know that children as early as 6 years old should start having their first eye examination? While they are developing as a person, so does their vision! It helps them to recognise family faces, familiarise different places, and cultivate learning interest from visual stimulus. Seeing clearly plays a determining role for their personal development, so it is as important to us as it is to you for them to see clearly

What signs should you look out for:

  • Holding reading material at close distances
  • Squeezing their eyes when asked to look at an object or word
  • Tilting their head on either side constantly
  • Frequent rubbing of eyes
  • Tend to copy a friend’s work instead of the black board
  • Slow to finish what’s written on the board
  • Difficulty estimating distance

Eye Health Screening

Introduction

An eye health screening is an overall check of your eye, inside and out. There are a number of conditions that may occur within your eye that may not affect your vision abruptly, but rather subtly. These screenings are able to detect signs of health problems such as diabetes or hypertension. Picking up at an earlier stage could help increase the chances of preventable vision loss and are performed without an eye dilation so you can resume your daily activities after.

Eye Pressure Screening

Tonometry is used to measure the internal eye pressure (IOP) of a patient for glaucoma detection. When internal eye pressure is increased too high, it affects the nerve near the exit of the eye causing a loss of visual field. An air puff tonometer is a non-contact equipment that measures eye pressure through a release of air at your cornea.

Slit Lamp Examination

A slit lamp examination is used to observe the structure of the eye under a high magnification.Mainly for the front portion of your eyes, it includes your eyelashes, eyelids, conjunctiva, iris, pupil, cornea and lens. While this may sound simple, a wide range of conditions can be detected in a slit lamp examination – including cataracts, corneal ulcers, conjunctivitis, abrasions, diabetic retinopathy and others.

Topography

Corneal topography produces a visual description of the power, shape and curvature of your cornea. Like the earth, the eye has irregular hills and valleys on the surface and can help detect irregular conditions invisible to conventional testing. They are used not only for contact lens fitting but also in lasik surgery and detection of eye diseases such as keratoconus.
